CONSULTING SERVICE LINES:
After a one-year hiatus, Censeo Consulting Group returns as
one of the Best Small Firms to Work For this year at No. 14, the
same ranking position the firm held in 2014. For Censeo, being
a Best Small Firm to Work For is proof that staying true to your
values as a company—building a tight-knit and collaborative
firm that treats its employees like family and puts people first—
is not a barrier to success, but a necessity, says Raj Sharma,
CEO of Censeo Consulting Group.
Meanwhile, for clients, “this award
demonstrates that when they turn to
Censeo for operations management
support, they are bringing on board
not only top-notch consultants, but
also top-notch people who they can
trust and rely on, and with whom
they enjoy working,” he says.
Ask Sharma what is his top prior-
ity over the next 12 months and he’ll
say, in a word, “Innovation.”
“We’ve spent the past 13 years
building a strong business that
has made steady inroads into the
federal, higher education, and non-
profit consulting sectors, building
a trusted and reputable brand based
on our analytical skills and exper-
tise,” he says. “Our top priority for
the next 12 months is innovation—
breaking the consulting mold to
bring new and challenging ideas to
the public sector.”
And the year ahead presents
plenty of opportunity, he says,
including new open office space
and a re-launched company strat-
egy. “We’re excited to harness that
positive energy to bring innovative
new services to the public sector,”
he says. “We see an opportunity to
bridge consulting and government
to promote the exchange of ideas
and advance the social good.”
Those are just a few of the rea-
sons that morale is sky-high at
Censeo right about now, but Sharma
says morale has always been a con-
stant at the firm. “Our employees
have always had great morale, and
we believe that our commitment to
flexibility, work-life balance, and
an environment of collaboration
supports a positive and upbeat work-
place,” he says. “Our employees are
encouraged to take initiative, which
has translated to opportunities to ex-
plore interests outside of work.”
Such as the Social Committee,
a ‘grassroots’ effort, that orga-
nizes trivia nights, happy hours,
outings, and community service
events that allow employees to
explore their community and
build friendships, Sharma says.
“Censeo was founded on values—
we believe that values trump strategy,
and we have held true to those values,” he says. “Our employees see
this commitment to staying true to
what is important, and we believe that
this dedication to our employees and
our community sets us apart.”
