Master VAR with award-winning technical expertise,” says
David Wallen, Vice President of
Marketing for SBS Group.
Consulting caught up with Wallen to
discuss the SBS Group’s revenue growth and financial performance the last three years.
Consulting: What were the
main factors that contributed
to your firm’s exceptional
growth?
Wallen: By keeping an eye on
trends and focusing on innovation to be prepared for those
trends. We invested time, attention, and resources in what were
then “emerging technologies”,
like cloud computing, business
intelligence, and rapid deployment tools. This has put us in a
leadership position in our market. We’re now focusing on
e-commerce and digital customer experience and expanding our
partner programs.
Consulting: How is this year
shaping up for your firm?
Wallen: This has been a very interesting year for SBS. Demand
for our services and solutions
around Microsoft Dynamics 365
Operations and Sales has resulted
a lot of new clients. We launched
a new partner program for Microsoft partners which is driving a
lot of interest.
Consulting: How would you
describe your firm’s outlook
for 2018? Where do you see
the most opportunities?
Wallen: 2018 looks to be another exciting year. The market
for cloud-based business applications will continue to accelerate and we expect to capitalize
on that trend, both in attracting
new clients (and partners) as
well as helping our current clients to take advantage of these
technologies.
Consulting: What would you
say are your firm’s biggest
challenges in 2018?
Wallen: Attracting and retaining talent is always a challenge,
but the labor market for skilled
business and technology consultants, as well as business development people, seems to be getting tighter.
Consulting: What does being
named one of Consulting’s
Fastest Growing Firms mean
to your firm, your employees
and your clients?
Wallen: Being named one of
Consulting’s Fastest Growing
Firms affirms that we made good
strategic decisions about where to
focus our business and that we’ve
executed well. It demonstrates
our commitment to providing our
clients with the highest quality
service and that we have, and will
continue to, provide them with
innovative solutions that deliver
real business value.
