KPMG’s Keaton Miller is
a Director in the ManagementConsulting practice focusing on
Procurement & Supply Chain. As
with many of our winners, Miller
has enjoyed a meteoric rise within
the firm, moving from associate to
a firm leader in just eight years.
Miller was a charter member of
KPMG’s Procurement consulting
group, which helped fuel 500 per-
cent growth in the last five years. His
project experience includes lead-
ing transformational engagements
across a variety of industries, includ-
ing energy, high tech, and telecom-
munications, resulting in multi-mil-
lion dollars in savings for his clients.
He was one of just 16 national winners of KPMG’s Chairman’s Award
for High Performance, a distinction
he considers a career highlight.
“This award honors KPMG employees who differentiate themselves
through sustained outstanding performance, a continual dedication to
excellence, and an unrelenting commitment to raising the bar,” he says.
Miller derives job satisfaction by
surrounding himself with dynamic
leaders, mentors, and caring people,
without whom he says he would not
be where he is today.
When asked what excites him about
the profession, he said what are most
commonly considered frustrating elements are to him the most rewarding.
“The pace, the impact, the people,
and the challenge.”
Miller called the Rising Stars award
“a tremendous honor” and said it was
shared with the people who mean the
most to him personally as well as professionally. “They not only understood
the significance of the accomplishment and the effort required to achieve
this high honor, but it was also their
support and sacrifices that truly enabled me to accomplish my goals.”★
JACKIE
MORRIS
IBM
TITLE:
Senior Consultant
AWARD CATEGORY:
Client Service
AGE
24
Another
wunderkind
on this year’s
list of Rising Stars is 24-year-old
Jackie Morris, a junior consultant at
IBM who peers say has a pragmatic
problem solving sensibility and an
ability to interact with executives
with a level of confidence that far
exceeds her years.
Don’t let the title fool you; Morris’
responsibilities are far from “junior”.
Her peers marvel at her ability to
seemingly pull rabbits out of her
hat, perhaps most notably taking
just a few sentences of direction
and turning it into what became a
core component of IBM’s analytics
strategy offering for the Life
Sciences industry. Morris says the
state of advanced analytics, which
is her main focus, is a source of big
excitement and opportunity.
“As a consultant with a focus on
advanced analytics, it’s a really
exciting time. Big Data and advanced
analytics provide opportunities for
our clients to build competitive
strategies around data-driven insights. Being at the frontier of an
industry means I get to collaborate
with clients on unprecedented
and innovative projects—and that is
really rewarding.”
When asked about her proudest
achievements, she cited recognition
from a client about the long-term
impact of her work.
“One of my proudest moments was
when I heard from a previous client
that a delivery model I developed is
still being used today in their group,
as well as by others in the company,
truly validating the long-term value
and relevance of my work.”
As for this latest recognition,
Morris called the Rising Stars of
the Profession Award “fantastic
recognition for IBM’s university hire
program and credit to the strong results
young consultants can deliver.” ★
