BOWMAN
As a student
of physics and
mathematics,
Revel Consulting’s Tim Bowman
knows a thing or two about solving
problems, and brings his academic
background to bear in devising
solutions for a broad range of clients
as founder and leader of Revel’s
Strategy & Insights team.
“Intrinsically, the ability to confidently tackle the most ambiguous
challenges (which I learned experientially through my background in
physics and mathematics) and drive
something through to conclusion has
enabled my success,” Bowman says.
And there has been plenty of success. Bowman’s team was brought on
to help a mobile carrier ready its books
for an anticipated merger. Using a data-driven approach to spot potential issues before they arose, they were able
to save the client over $60 million.
As has been typical for so many
of our Rising Stars of the Profession,
helping others is a big part of what
he does. Bowman devotes his skills
to volunteer projects for foster kids,
working with local organizations to
streamline operations and extend marketing reach to generate the highest
possible impact.
It is this area where Bowman says he
derives the most pride from his work.
“Professionally, I’m most proud of
little, mostly invisible achievements.
Whether it’s seeing my clients achieve
their goals and get a promotion, men-
toring fellow Revelers and colleagues
and seeing them grow/flourish, or
seeing the invaluable impact of local
nonprofits I’ve had the opportunity to
partner with through Revel’s Sustain-
able Giving program.”
Bowman says the Rising Stars award
is recognition of his team’s work.
“I see the award as a validation that
the work my teammates and I do matters. And, that my approach to problem-solving/problem-seeking works.” ★
Sarah
Butler, a
29-year-
old Senior Associate with
WTP Advisors, says being
named one of the Rising
Stars of the Profession is the
accomplishment that she’s
most proud of at this point in
her young career.
“Winning this award is an honor,”
Butler says. “It feels great to be
acknowledged for a job well done.”
Such as: In her first year with
WTP, Butler identified a refundable
tax credit opportunity for a public
company that resulted in a direct
earnings per share impact on the
company’s financials, allowing the
client to beat analyst expectations
for the quarter.
It’s this type of impact that has
helped her secure a Rising Star of
the Profession Award in the area of
outstanding Client Service.
A graduate of Montana State
University, and the University
of Connecticut School of Law,
Butler is a licensed attorney in
Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Throughout her career, she says
she’s had the opportunity to branch
into many different areas of tax,
adding that “it’s great to work at
a firm that strives to be long-term
partners with clients” as she does at
WTP Advisors.
“I am constantly challenged in
the area that I work in and know
that I will have many opportunities
in different areas in the future.”
according to Butler.
“I also enjoy meeting new clients,
learning about their business, and
working with them to identify credit
opportunities,” she says.
“I am excited to continue the
relationships with my current clients,
build relationships with new clients,
and [continue to] branch into new
areas of tax.” ★
