Wong sat down with Consulting
to discuss the firm’s overall performance, outlook and achievement of placing among this
year’s Fastest Growing Firms.
Consulting: What were the main
factors that contributed to your firm’s
Wong: The foundation of DayBlink,
as with most high-performing professional services firms, is our people.
We continue to prioritize firm culture
and finding people that live our values. While we have received recognition for employee benefits, we are
always looking for new and innovative ways to improve. Understanding
that DayBlink's success is rooted in
our people, we will continue to have
people as our top focus.
Consulting: How is this year shaping
up for your firm?
Wong: We came into 2019 with
strong momentum in new service
offerings and new clients, and have
been able to build on this throughout the year. We are positioned for
a strong finish of 2019. DayBlink
invested in developing new service
offerings in late 2018 and early 2019
and we're seeing those investments
pay off, helping to sustain our growth.
Consulting: How would you describe
your firm’s outlook for 2020? Where
do you see the most opportunities?
Wong: As we enter 2020, we are
building on the success of service
offerings introduced over the last
year. Throughout 2019, DayBlink
has been evaluating where we think
our next bets will be placed, in terms
of technologies and services, and
are moving forward with those. As a
smaller shop, we have to continue to
be nimble to compete with the brand
names, but our focus on people helps
ensure we have the talent to do so.
Consulting: What are your firm’s
biggest challenges in 2020?
Wong: In my responses, you'll no-
tice a theme focused on our people,
which it should be as they are the true
linchpin of our success. Consulting
is a demanding profession, especial-
ly in terms of hours and travel, and
it has its fair share of turnover as a
result. DayBlink focuses on keeping
our best talent through not only ex-
cellent compensation and benefits,
but through professional develop-
ment opportunities that only a firm
of our size can truly offer—direct
interaction with partners, opportuni-
ties to grow quickly in delivery re-
sponsibilities, and being able to see
direct contributions to firm success
from both client and internal work.
Consulting: What does being named
one of Consulting’s Fastest Growing
Firms mean to your firm, your
employees and your clients?
Wong: Being recognized among
Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms
for the second year is marvelous, as
it validates our entire firm's contribution to our collective success. It
gives us a chance to pause, catch
our breath, and grab a quick glance
at our progress over the last year
before we resume our journey forward. Our firm is thankful to Consulting Magazine and proud to be
