SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
What does winning the Top 25 award mean to you, your firm and your clients?
“This award is a reflection of
team success, truly.”
EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL SERVICES
Ask Jim Folds, a Senior Vice President with Carlisle &
Gallagher, what he’s most proud of and he’ll immediately
shift the focus away from his own achievements and talk
about his team. “I’m most proud of the progression and achievement of the emerging leaders on my team. As a growing firm there is a growing need for leaders, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is to support their development,” Folds says. “Over the past year we’ve had multiple senior consultants dramatically increase their client im- pact, their engagement portfolios, and their influence in the field.” Modesty aside, Folds contributes to the strategic direction of CG and has executive oversight for a portfolio of strategic clients. For his client portfolio, these responsibilities include account relation- ship, business development, consulting services performance and op- erational management. As an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, Folds has been instrumental in building the firm’s management consulting practice since joining Carlisle & Gallagher in 2002. Success is based on two things, he says, a willingness to learn and a willingness to work hard. “By applying lessons from prior experi- ences and leveraging those behaviors we will improve our future per- formance,” Fold says. “I have a desire to make a positive impact on both our clients and on our firm. It is my responsibility to perform for clients, and in turn, to create opportunities that enable the careers of my associates.” Prior to joining CG, Folds earned his management and technology consulting stripes as a Manager in the Financial Services practice at BearingPoint and as an Advisory Consultant at Broadway & Seymour. During that time, he serviced dozens of financial services clients, including industry leaders JPM Chase, Visa, Wells Fargo, and Morgan Stanley. Jim led client engagements across many functional areas of financial services, specializing in customer relationship management. Folds is described by colleagues as “insightful,” “committed” and “a consistent leader” who has identified business opportunities that have led to some pretty significant revenue for CG over the last 11 years. “The consulting profession offers variety in terms of client en- vironments, engagements, and challenges. But one ‘constant’ is evident—multiple people are required to create big client im- pact—it requires working together,” he says. “And team success is most rewarding.” And clearly, Folds would have it no other way.
