It’s hard to believe that a firm could
grow an astronomical 1,845 percent,
and not be ranked No. 1 on Consulting’s Fastest Growing Firms list. But
that’s precisely what happened with
Falcon Consulting Group. Falcon is a
holistic healthcare provider consultancy that focuses on driving value in the
improvement of clinical quality, financial sustainability, technology adoption
and customer engagement. “We have
successfully worked with the nation’s
largest and most complex healthcare
delivery systems in addressing their
immediate business problems by implementing customized, value-based,
and outcome driven approaches
and methodologies,” says Brendan
Downing, CEO of Falcon Consulting
Group. Downing says Falcon has diversified its service delivery portfolio
through the acquisition of top-tier talent from industry leading consulting
firms, leading health care organizations and EHR vendors. Falcon now
deploys over 130 consultants at 35 clients across the U.S., providing a wide
range of technical and operational
transformative and strategic solutions.
Consulting caught up with Downing
to discuss Falcon’s high-flying financial performance.
Consulting: What were the
main factors that contributed
to your exceptional growth?
Downing: We attribute our remark-
able growth over the past several
years to both our people and our cli-
ents. We’ve been fortunate to part-
ner with a large number of success-
ful health care organizations that
maintain core values that focus on
high quality care delivery. This has
enabled us to recruit and retain high
quality talent whom are seasoned
and equipped to provide rapid and
effective consulting services and
promote Falcon’s adhesive culture.
Consulting: How is 2015
shaping up for your firm?
Downing: 2015 is promising to be
our most successful fiscal year to
date. As we’ve experienced this
tremendous growth trajectory, we
have adjusted our business model to
anticipate new opportunities in the
market and get ahead of them. This
opportunistic strategy has enabled
us to remain ahead of the curve and
contributed to our success this year.
Consulting: How would you
describe your firm’s outlook
for 2016? Where do you see
the most opportunities?
Downing: We remain extremely optimistic about 2016, as evidenced by
our growing pipeline of opportunities.
Developing payment models, care
coordination and population health
continue to play energizing roles in
the market and we are planning accordingly. Furthermore, as our clients
continue to optimize their EHRs, we
are playing a larger role in strategic
planning with organizational leaders.
Consulting: What do you see
as the biggest challenges for
your firm in 2016?
Downing: Keeping up with the
growth. Just as any firm of similar
size, we continue to manage the implications that accompany such rapid growth of both business and staff.
Consulting: What does being
named one of Consulting’s
Fastest Growing Firms mean
to your firm, your employees
and your clients?
Downing: We’re very proud of this
distinction—as it reinforces that
significant effort that we have applied towards our clients and people. This not only speaks to the success that our clients have achieved
over the past several years, but also
to the quality of work that our consulting staff has delivered.
