In preparation for the opening of a new casino
in Cincinnati, Ohio, Caesars Entertainment—
one of the world’s best known gaming
brands—needed a recruiting solution that
could efficiently process high applicant
volumes within tight time frames, while
delivering a quality candidate experience
for its newest casino, Horseshoe Cincinnati.
Caesars turned to Aon Hewitt for help.
Typical challenges Caesars Entertainment
historically experienced with their grand openings included: Large applicant volumes and
tight time frames; Lack of technology and
resources to efficiently screen all applicants;
Resource constraints, requiring employees
from other locations to be pulled in for the
screening process; Inability to get to know all
candidates beyond their paper resumes; In-
consistency in the candidate experience when
multiple resources are used; and, scheduling
inconveniences for candidates.
To address recruitment challenges for Horse-
shoe Cincinnati, Aon Hewitt recommended
a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO)
solution. The most critical element of Aon
Hewitt’s solution was technology accelera-
tors for screening, scheduling and interview-
ing. Aon Hewitt ramped up its solution to ac-
commodate thousands of candidates in less
than two weeks. Using client-defined, tailored
interview questions and an agreed-upon cali-
bration, Aon Hewitt thoroughly and consis-
tently screened and rated candidates.
For the casino, the top candidates were invited
to self-schedule for the hiring day, using Aon
Hewitt’s proprietary scheduling tool. Over a
five-week period, Aon Hewitt’s recruiting team
delivered more than 2,000 quality candidates
to the casino hiring event, leveraging enhanced
screening processes, coupled with innovative
technology. Horseshoe Cincinnati found the
right candidates to fill every job using a project
RPO hiring solution. And 92 percent of candidates rated the process a 4 or higher on a
scale of 1-5 for “ease of use.”
